Pest Control
Enjoy Your Yard, Pest-Free
Comprehensive insect control for a healthy and bite-free lawn.
Targeted Pest Defense
For Every Season
Regardless of the season—spring, summer, or fall—we offer programs and individual treatments for yards in need of pest control. Infected with mosquitoes, fire ants, or grass-killing grubs? We have a solution.
Programs
For common pests like mosquitoes, we offer month-to-month programs to combat their spread. These programs are customizable according to your yard’s needs, can be adjusted to your liking, and are separate from our lawn maintenance programs. However, we include fire ant applications, grub control treatments, and general insecticides in our Fertilization Plus+ Program.
Individual Applications
For stubborn, but season-specific pests, like Armyworms, we offer single treatments to protect your lawn through their active months. These pests do not require a program and are a one-time visit from our crew.
Pest Control Programs

Individual Applications
Armyworm Treatment
Includes the one-time treatment against Armyworms between August and October, which protects the lawn from a grass-eating pest only active during the fall. These creatures are fast-acting and destructive, and in many scenarios, they can eat up a lawn’s grass within just a few hours. Effects are shown in the photo. Eaten grass is incredibly difficult to restore, so chemical treatments against Armyworms are imperative.
FAQs
-
Mosquito season typically begins in early spring and lasts through fall, with peak activity from May through September/October.
-
Most mosquito treatments are applied monthly during peak mosquito season for most effective results. At NCTC, we apply treatments every thirty days from March through October to ensure mosquito populations are properly managed all season long.
-
Professional mosquito treatments are applied carefully and allowed to dry before pets or people return to treated areas. When applied correctly, they are safe for landscapes and households.
At NC Turf Care, we also offer In2Care system program options that is operated solely by a liquid-filled trap effective only against mosquitoes. This is the ideal program for homeowners worried about their children, pets, or beneficial insects like bees or butterflies. -
Armyworms are caterpillar pests that can destroy large areas of turf grass extremely quickly by feeding on grass blades. In severe outbreaks, lawns can go from green to brown in just a few days. Lawn recovery after damage has been done by Armyworms can take a lot of time and money, making it a real headache homeowners and business owners.
-
Many lawns can recover if damage is caught early and treated quickly. Severe infestations may require reseeding or turf repair.
-
Treatment typically involves targeted insecticide applications designed to stop feeding quickly and protect remaining turf.
-
Signs include brown patches that lift like loose carpet, increased animal digging from raccoons or birds, and thinning turf.
-
No. Disturbing a mound usually causes the colony to spread or relocate rather than eliminate it. To effectively remove fire ants, you will need chemical treatment for long-term results.
